MAREX PETROLEUM CORPORATION was formed in 1982 to identify, develop and bring to maturity on a risk basis and through an association with partners, energy-related business opportunities world-wide. Particular emphasis has been placed on the exploration and production of hydrocarbons and electrical power generation.
To date, Marex has conducted 52 projects in 23 countries with 36 partners and associates. On its own, it has pursued activities or has had exposure in 38 other countries for a total amount of experience in 61 countries. Details available on request. Track-Record As a part of the projects mentioned above Marex has been directly involved with the evaluation, the award and subsequent management and field operations for 12 oil concessions. Three of these have the following ultimate recoverable reserves: Kerkennah West (Tunisia) 35 MM BBLS, Sidi el Kilani (Tunisia) 60 MM BBLS, Jarn Yaphour (Abu Dhabi, UAE) 100 MM BBLS.
Marex is presently involved in the negotiations for small-size power generation projects (maximum 40 megawatts) in Tunisia and Morocco (BOO), in developing the petroleum potential (40 to 70 million barrels of recoverable oil reserves) for the Lavignolle concession in the Parentis sub-basin, located in the Aquitaine region of southwestern France and in establishing an acreage position in the deep-waters offshore East Africa Areas of previous activity or exposure:
The Future Marex is positioned for a major growth phase in the forthcoming years through undergoing negotiations in North Africa for power generation, recently acquired petroleum properties in the Aquitaine basin of France, and participation in East Africa offshore exploration through the leveraging of our existing offshore databank. |
